NEW YORK, NY (July 31, 2013) - Sony Pictures Classics announced today that after continued box office success they will once again increase BEFORE MIDNIGHT's theater count to 226 screens this weekend. Richard Linklater's film, starring Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy, has grossed $7,743,294 in theaters to date. This surpasses BEFORE SUNRISE and BEFORE SUNSET's box office grosses, marking BEFORE MIDNIGHT as the trilogy's most successful film.

NEW YORK (July 29, 2013) - Sony Pictures Classics announced today they have acquired worldwide rights to the documentary TIM'S VERMEER, directed by Teller of PENN & TELLER fame. Produced by Teller's stage partner Penn Jillette and Farley Ziegler, the film follows Tim Jenison, a Texas based inventor, as he attempts to solve one of the greatest mysteries in all of art: How did 17th century Dutch Master Johannes Vermeer ("Girl with a Pearl Earring") manage to paint so photo-realistically, 150 years before the invention of photography?

NEW YORK (July 24, 2013) - Sony Pictures Classics announced today it will be releasing Alex Gibney's Lance Armstrong documentary, THE ARMSTRONG LIE worldwide. The film, produced by Gibney, Frank Marshall and Matt Tolmach, tells the unfolding story of Armstrong's life and career over the last four years.

LOS ANGELES, CA - July 23, 2013 - Sony Pictures Imageworks (SPI) and Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) today announce the release of Alembic 1.5, their jointly-developed open-source project that facilitates the sharing of animation and visual effects scenes across multiple software applications. NEW YORK (July 11, 2013) - Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they have acquired the North American rights to Frank Pavich's documentary JODOROWSKY'S DUNE. Executive produced by Donald Rosenfeld and produced by Pavich, Stephen Scarlata, and Travis Stevens, the film was in the Director's Fortnight section at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

Miami, FL (July 2, 2013) - Nathalie Lubensky has been chosen to manage Sony Pictures Television's (SPT) channels in Latin America, it was announced today by TC Schultz, executive vice president and managing director, networks, Latin America and Brazil.

Lubensky will be responsible for the management of SET, AXN and Spin across Spanish language Latin America. The company's channels in Brazil will continue to be managed by Alberto Niccoli, senior vice president and general manager, channels, Brazil. Both executives will report to Schultz.
