Dame Maggie Smith, the star of the Downton Abbey phenomenon, will reprise one of her most-loved stage roles for the big screen, under the direction of Nicholas Hytner.

The studio sees this as its next big, global franchise and plans to go into production by the end of the year. Written by Jenny Bicks and produced by Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald, the film will be executive produced by Parkes+MacDonald's president Marc Resteghini alongside Julia Pistor, who will executive produce for Mattel's Playground Productions.

Conyers, GA (April 23, 2014) - Principal photography has commenced on Goosebumps, starring Jack Black. Rob Letterman directs the film from a screenplay by Darren Lemke and Mike White and a story by Scott Alexander & Larry Karaszewski and Darren Lemke, based on the Goosebumps book series published by Scholastic and written by R. L. Stine. The producers are Neal H. Moritz and Deborah Forte. Executive producers are Bill Bannerman and Tania Landau. The film will be released on March 23, 2016.

NEW YORK, (April 22, 2014) - Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they will release Bennett Miller's FOXCATCHER in the United States on November 14. The film will premiere in the In Competition Section at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival.

Directed by Bennett Miller (MONEYBALL, CAPOTE), FOXCATCHER tells the gripping, true story of Olympic Wrestling Champion brothers Mark Schultz (Tatum) and Dave Schultz (Ruffalo) and their relationship with the eccentric John du Pont (Carell), heir to the du Pont Chemical fortune that led to murder.

NEW YORK, (April 22, 2014) - Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they have acquired all North American, Eastern European and Asian rights to the documentary RED ARMY from filmmaker Gabe Polsky. The film was just announced as part of the 2014 Cannes Film Festival lineup in the Special Screening Section.

NEW YORK (April 7, 2014) - Sony Pictures Classics announced today that it will release Martha Stephens & Aaron Katz's LAND HO! on July 11 in New York and Los Angeles, followed by openings nationwide. Additionally, LAND HO! will screen at the Tribeca Film Festival in April and the Los Angeles Film Festival in June. The film made its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January, where it played to great critical acclaim.

CULVER CITY, Calif., April 4, 2014 - Michelle Monaghan and Peter Dinklage have joined Adam Sandler, Kevin James, and Josh Gad in the cast of Sony Pictures Entertainment's Pixels, which will be directed by Chris Columbus and released in the Summer of 2015. Principal photography will begin in June of this year on the Happy Madison/1492 Pictures production, which was written by Tim Herlihy and Timothy Dowling, based on the short film directed by Patrick Jean and produced by One More Production.
