NEW YORK (January 29, 2015) - Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they have acquired all North American rights to Woody Allen's upcoming film, IRRATIONAL MAN, from Gravier Productions.

Produced by Letty Aronson, Stephen Tenenbaum and Edward Walson, the film features a prestigious cast including Jamie Blackley, Joaquin Phoenix, Parker Posey and Emma Stone.

CULVER CITY, Calif., January 29, 2015 - War Room, the highly-anticipated fifth film from Alex and Stephen Kendrick (Fireproof, Courageous, Facing the Giants, Flywheel) will debut in theaters nationwide on August 28, 2015. Sony Pictures Entertainment's TriStar Pictures, distributor of Soul Surfer, Courageous and last summer's faith-based sensation Heaven is For Real, will release the film, which is rated PG, perfectly positioning it to entertain families of all ages.

CULVER CITY, Calif., January 27, 2015 - Jeff Robinov's Fosun-backed Studio 8, together with Chinese distribution company Bona Film Group, will partner with Tom Rothman's TriStar and Film4 on the adaptation of Ben Fountain's acclaimed novel Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, to be directed by three-time Oscar®-winner Ang Lee. The deal brings together several members of the family of companies at Sony Pictures, which will distribute the film worldwide, except for Greater China, which Bona Film Group Ltd will handle. Film 4 will have UK free television.

NEW YORK (January 27, 2015) - Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they acquired the rights in North America, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, Eastern Europe excluding Russia, Asia, Scandinavia and Germany to Marielle Heller's directorial debut, THE DIARY OF A TEENAGE GIRL. The film, based on the acclaimed graphic novel by Phoebe Gloeckner, premiered on Saturday at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, where it has been one of the most well received films by critics and audiences alike. K5 International is handling all international territories.

NEW YORK (January 27, 2015) - Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they acquired worldwide rights to GRANDMA. The film, written and directed by Paul Weitz, premieres Friday at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and stars Lily Tomlin, Julia Garner, Marcia Gay Harden, Judy Greer, Laverne Cox and Sam Elliott. GRANDMA is produced by Andrew Miano, Weitz, Paris Kassidokostas-Latsis and Terry Dougas and executive produced by Stephanie Meurer, Dan Balgoyen and Danielle Renfrew Behrens.

CULVER CITY, Calif., January 27, 2015 - Sony Pictures Entertainment today announced that Oscar® nominee Kristine Belson has been named President, Sony Pictures Animation (SPA). In her new role, Belson will lead the development and production of original material as well as current and future franchises, focusing on creating an environment that nurtures animators and artists.
