LAS VEGAS, Nev., April 22, 2015 - On July 20, 2018, Phil Lord & Christopher Miller, the directors of The Lego Movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and 21 and 22 Jump Street, are taking Spider-Man back to his graphic roots with the first-of-its-kind animated Spider-Man feature, it was announced today at CinemaCon by Tom Rothman, chairman of the Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group. The film will exist independently of the projects in the live-action Spider-Man universe, all of which are continuing.

CULVER CITY - April 13, 2015 - Sony Entertainment CEO Michael Lynton today named Sanford Panitch as President of International Film & Television. Panitch comes to SPE after serving as president of Fox International Productions, a division of 20th Century Fox.

CULVER CITY, Calif., March 30, 2015 - Sony Pictures Entertainment has named John Restall as executive vice president, Domestic Marketing Research, it was announced today by Dwight Caines, president, Theatrical Marketing for Sony Pictures. In his new role, Restall will report to Caines as he oversees all domestic theatrical market research efforts for the studio's marketing department, helping to shape and manage the studio's messaging for all films.

CULVER CITY, Calif., March 22nd, 2015- Sony Pictures Entertainment has closed a deal to adapt the Tony Award-winning Broadway smash "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical" into a feature film, it was announced today by Doug Belgrad, president, Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group, and Michael De Luca, who serves as the studio's president of Production with Hannah Minghella. The hit show will be adapted by Douglas McGrath, who is also the writer of the musical's book.
