January 23, 2016 (Park City) — In advance of its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, Sony Pictures Classics announced today that it has acquired worldwide rights (excluding France and Germany) from NYC-based sales company Submarine to Thorsten Schütte's documentary on iconoclastic composer-musician Frank Zappa, EAT THAT QUESTION-FRANK ZAPPA IN HIS OWN WORDS, an intimate portrait told through rare archival footage.

Additionally, the film will be distributed by Sony Pictures in Spain, Latin America and the US.

CULVER CITY, CALIF., December 14, 2015 — Father and son re-recording mixers Michael and Christian Minkler have joined the growing roster of sound talent at Sony Pictures Post Production Services. The Minklers, who mixed the current Columbia Pictures release Concussion in Sony Pictures' Burt Lancaster Theatre, have been working at the studio since last year, but are now on a formal basis. The pair previously mixed Insurgent on the Sony lot and are currently collaborating on The Hateful Eight.

CULVER CITY, CALIF. — December 9, 2015 — Sony Pictures Entertainment recently completed an all-new 4K restoration of Cover Girl, director Charles Vidor's 1944 Technicolor musical that marked one of the first starring roles for Rita Hayworth. The new restoration, completed under the supervision of Grover Crisp, Sony Pictures EVP Asset Management, Film Restoration & Digital Mastering, recently premiered at The Museum of Modern Art in New York's just-concluded 13th International Festival of film preservation, To Preserve and Project.

BEIJING, December 2, 2015 — Huaso Film/TV Digital Production, the joint-venture production company of Sony Pictures Television (SPT) and CCTV6's HuaCheng Pictures, and Croton Media announced today that they have secured two deals to bring the local adaptation of SPT's hit, multi award-winning comedy Mad About You to audiences across China.

Shanghai Media Group has acquired the exclusive, first-run satellite TV rights to the new comedy, which will be known locally as Xin Hun Gong Yu. The series will debut in early January 2016 on Dragon TV.
