CULVER CITY, Calif., March 22nd, 2015- Sony Pictures Entertainment has closed a deal to adapt the Tony Award-winning Broadway smash "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical" into a feature film, it was announced today by Doug Belgrad, president, Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group, and Michael De Luca, who serves as the studio's president of Production with Hannah Minghella. The hit show will be adapted by Douglas McGrath, who is also the writer of the musical's book.

CULVER CITY, Calif., February 25, 2015 - Sony Pictures Entertainment has entered into a two-year, first-look deal with Josh Bratman's Immersive Pictures, it was announced today by Michael DeLuca and Hannah Minghella, presidents of Production for Columbia Pictures.

CULVER CITY, Calif., February 5, 2015 - Sony Pictures Entertainment today announced that Amy Pascal, Co-Chairman of SPE and Chairman of the Motion Picture Group, will launch a major new production venture at the studio. Pascal will transition to the new venture in May 2015.

Ms. Pascal who joined Columbia Pictures in 1988, said that after several decades as a senior executive at Sony Pictures, she had decided to launch her own company that would focus on movies, television and theater. Details of Ms. Pascal's film venture will be announced shortly.
