NEW YORK (August 3, 2012) - Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they have acquired all North American and Eastern European rights, excluding CIS and Russia, to AT ANY PRICE. Ramin Bahrani (GOODBYE SOLO, MAN PUSH CART, CHOP SHOP) directed and co-wrote the film with Hallie Elizabeth Newton. AT ANY PRICE stars Dennis Quaid, Zac Efron, Kim Dickens and Heather Graham.

CULVER CITY, CA (August 2, 2012) - Sony Pictures Imageworks (SPI) and Sony Pictures Animation (SPA), celebrating 20th and 10th anniversaries, respectively, will feature their renowned stable of effects and animation talent August 7 in special "behind the scenes" presentations of blockbuster live-action hits Men in Black 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man and the highly-anticipated animated feature film Hotel Transylvania during SIGGRAPH 2012 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

SINGAPORE / MANILA (July 31, 2012) - Sony Pictures Television Networks, Asia has named James Dumlao as head of its operations in the Philippines. As Director, Business Operations, Networks, Asia, Sony Pictures Television, Dumlao will be based in the company's Manila office to lead its local team across all strategic operations and brand-building aspects of the business.

CULVER CITY, CA (July 31, 2012) - DeVon Franklin has been named Senior Vice President of Production for Columbia Pictures it was announced today by Doug Belgrad, President of Columbia Pictures, to whom Franklin will report.

In his new role, Franklin will find, develop and supervise production of commercial material geared towards the urban and faith-based markets. He will work with all of the film divisions within the Sony Pictures umbrella. His next project will be the film adaptation of the New York Times Bestseller, Heaven Is For Real.

NEW YORK, NY (July 30, 2012) - Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they have acquired all North American rights to the documentary, THE GATEKEEPERS by Dror Moreh (SHARON). The film, a co-production between DMP Les Films du Poisson and Cinephil, is produced by Dror Moreh, Estelle Fialon and Philippa Kowarsky. The film recently premiered at the Jerusalem International Film Festival.

The deal was negotiated with Sony Pictures Classics by Philippa Kowarsky, on behalf of Cinephil Sales.

LONDON, UK (July 25, 2012) - Global talk show sensation, The Dr. Oz Show, will soon prescribe health and lifestyle advice to UK audiences for the first time following a deal that sees Discovery Networks UK license the series from Sony Pictures Television (SPT). Discovery will broadcast the series on its lifestyle channel Discovery Home and Health.

CULVER CITY, CA (July 19, 2012) - Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) has promoted Jason Spivak to Executive Vice President of Worldwide Digital Distribution. The announcement was made today by Jim Underwood, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Digital and Commercial Strategy, to whom he reports.

In this role, Spivak will continue to lead the team responsible for SPHE's transactional digital business around the world.

LOS ANGELES, CA (July 19, 2012) - Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Networks today announced plans to launch its first Spanish language entertainment channel for the US Hispanic market. Cine Sony Television, which is the second Sony-branded channel in the US, will launch on Verizon FiOS TV in August. The announcement was made by Andy Kaplan, president, worldwide networks, SPT. The channel will be managed by Superna Kalle, senior vice president, US networks, SPT and general manager, Sony Movie Chanel and Cine Sony Television.
