NEW YORK, NY (June 19, 2012) - Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they have acquired all North American rights to Pedro Almodóvar's new comedy currently titled I'M SO EXCITED from El Deseo. The film, an ensemble comedy written and directed by Almodóvar, is set to begin production in July and will be released next summer.

MUMBAI, INDIA and CULVER CITY, CA (June 14, 2012) - Sony Pictures Television (SPT), an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc., has signed an agreement to acquire approximately 32 percent of the shares of Multi Screen Media Private Limited (MSM), which are owned by Grandway Global Holdings Limited ("Grandway") and Atlas Equifin Private Limited ("Atlas"). The agreement, subject to government approval, will bring SPT's interest in MSM to a little over 94 percent.

CULVER CITY, CA (June 11, 2012) - Colorworks provided 4K post production finishing services for Eldorado, a motion picture short, produced by Sony to demonstrate the capabilities of its next generation F65 CineAlta™ digital motion picture camera. Eldorado, which debuted at NAB 2012, was written, directed and lensed by Curtis Clark, ASC, who also directed The Arrival, a short film shot with the F65 last year.

BUDAPEST (June 11, 2012) - Sony Pictures Television (SPT) is launching a scripted series format developed specifically for Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), with plans to unveil it at NATPE Budapest this month.

The EIGHTIES, a coming of age dramedy set in the time of Perestroika, was developed and produced by SPT Productions Russia and LEAN-M for the CTC network earlier this year.

LONDON, ENGLAND (May 31, 2012) - Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Networks has announced a new senior management structure for its growing business across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Effective immediately, the region will be split into Western Europe, led by Kate Marsh, and Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEEMA), led by Lyle Stewart. Both report into Andy Kaplan, president of SPT Networks.

LOS ANGELES, CA (May 30, 2012) - Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Networks announced today they have signed a deal with Gaumont International Television to bring Hannibal, a new series based on the world-renowned mythology and infamous character portrait of Thomas Harris' "Hannibal Lecter," to AXN networks around the world. The announcement was made by Marie Jacobson, executive vice president, programming and production, Networks, SPT and Erik Pack, head international distribution and co-production, Gaumont International Television.
