SAUSAGE PARTY: FOODTOPIA
In this new series, the foods have dominated the human species and created their own utopia – FoodTopia! But when a rainstorm ruins their celebratory orgy and kills the only food with knowledge of the world, Gum, they're left feeling ill equipped to begin a new society and longing for answers. Luckily, Barry (Michael Cera) finds a living human, Jack (Will Forte) that they befriend to help them navigate the world. Julias (Sam Richardson) is the richest food in Foodtopia, becomes an evil dictator thirsty for power to run the town. Through a series of events – Burn A Man (Burning Man), Food Court, a toy car race, debates, an election, and more, Frank (Seth Rogen) and Brenda (Kristen Wiig) put up the fight of the century to take down Julius and get their Utopia back!
Sausage Party: Foodtopia is executive produced by Ariel Shaffir and Kyle Hunter, who also serve as showrunners. Shaffir and Hunter co-wrote the 2016 animated feature film with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Rogen, Goldberg, James Weaver, and Alex McAtee will executive produce via Point Grey Pictures, Madeline Blair oversees for Point Grey Pictures. Conrad Vernon, who co-directed the feature film, returns as director for the series and will also executive produce alongside Annapurna Television’s Megan Ellison, Patrick Chu, and Andrew Millstein. Sausage Party: Foodtopia is a co-production of Annapurna Television, Sony Pictures Television, and Amazon MGM Studios. The original film was a co-production between Columbia Pictures and Great Beyond.
