Fortitude International Continues Foreign Sales in Berlin with UTA and WME Handling Domestic

Berlin, Germany (February 8, 2014) - Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has announced that they have taken all rights in international English-speaking territories, Latin America and other key European territories to the film THE END OF THE TOUR, which stars Jason Segel and Jesse Eisenberg and is directed by James Ponsoldt (THE SPECTACULAR NOW). The script was penned by playwright Donald Margulies, who adapted David Lipsky's book Although Of Course You End Up Becoming Yourself: A Road Trip With David Foster Wallace.

Kilburn Media fully financed the film, with Mark Manuel and Ted O'Neal producing alongside David Kanter and Matt DeRoss for Anonymous Content and James Dahl of Modern Man Films. Anonymous Content's Paul Green will executive produce the film, which is scheduled to start production shortly.

Fortitude International is handling international sales and introduced the project to buyers at the European Film Market. UTA and WME are handling domestic sales.

The deal was brokered by Michael Helfand, Jonathan Freedberg and Chan Phung of Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions and by Nadine de Barros of Fortitude International.

THE END OF THE TOUR follows author David Foster Wallace (Segel), author of Infinite Jest who committed suicide in 2008, on a book tour at the start of his fame. Wallace is accompanied on the tour by Rolling Stone reporter David Lipsky (Eisenberg). Along the way, jealousy and competition emerge between the two writers as they discuss women, depression and the pros and cons of fame.

Fortitude International, which was co-founded by de Barros and producers Daniel Wagner and Robert Ogden Barnum, recently announced a partnership with Untitled Entertainment on a slate of five upcoming films, one of which is a forthcoming project from director Ariel Vromen (THE ICEMAN). In addition to sales, Fortitude is also capable of fully financing projects, with plans to finance and sell 10-15 movies per year. Fortitude also focuses on television by sourcing and financing TV series and miniseries.
