Angelica Guerra Named Senior Vice President And Managing Director, Production, Latin America And Us Hispanic For Sony Pictures Television

MIAMI, Fla. (Dec. 10, 2012) - Angelica Guerra has been named senior vice president and managing director, production, Latin America and US Hispanic for Sony Pictures Television (SPT), it was announced today by Andrea Wong, president, international production, SPT and president, international, Sony Pictures Entertainment, to whom she will report. Guerra replaces Donna Cunningham who was promoted to executive vice president, operations, international production, earlier this year. Based in Miami, Guerra will oversee the company's production business across the region, including SPT's interests in joint venture production companies Teleset in Colombia and Floresta Productions in Brazil.

"As a seasoned television executive, Angelica's many years of experience offer a unique blend of production and programming expertise combined with strong relationships and an international business savvy that is essential to this role," said Wong. "Having worked closely with Angelica through various co-production projects with Caracol, I'm thrilled to welcome her to the SPT family and am confident she will lead our creative efforts in Latin America to even greater success."

Prior to joining SPT, Guerra served as executive vice president, content for Caracol Television where she was responsible for developing and managing Caracol's growth strategy in Colombia and internationally. In this role, she led and coordinated several key business units including Programming, Production, Operations, Digital, International Distribution and Marketing. During her tenure at Caracol from 2007-2012, Guerra also acted as international vice president, development manager, and as international director from 2003-2006.

Previously, Guerra was executive vice president for Gentv, Channel 8 where she coordinated administrative, financial and commercial operation of the station. Guerra also served as chief financial officer for Tepuy (today Telemundo International). Guerra holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) - Trade Regulation and Intellectual Property from New York University, School of Law and a J.D. and Masters in Communications Law from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogata, Colombia.
