Lauren Glotzer To Head Corporate Development At Sony Pictures Entertainment
Culver City, CA (April 25, 2012) - Lauren Glotzer has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Corporate Development at Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) it was announced today by David Hendler, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at SPE, to whom she will report.
As Executive Vice President, Corporate Development, Glotzer will head the corporate development team at the studio, overseeing studio investments and analyses, mergers and acquisitions, new business development and strategic planning.
In her five years with SPE, Glotzer has been actively involved in many of the studio's major strategic ventures, including SPE's increased stake in GSN, the home entertainment joint venture with Universal in Australia, and the launch of The Hot Ticket, a theatrical distribution label dedicated to alternative content.
"Lauren's strategic guidance has been invaluable in keeping the studio nimble and innovative, streamlining our operations, expanding our consumer offerings, and investing in key businesses. Her promotion is well deserved," said Hendler.
Prior to joining SPE in 2007, Glotzer was Associate Director, Group Corporate Development for Virgin Media, based in London where she helped drive the cable company's purchase of Virgin Mobile UK and licensing of the Virgin brand name. Her past experience also includes business development and consulting roles at AvantGo EMEA in London and Deloitte in London, Paris, and New York, as well as a seat on the board of ITV News Channel in the UK.
Glotzer holds a BA from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut and MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France. [She is a dual national of the US and the UK.]
