Crackle Heads To Latin America

Multi-Platform Video Entertainment Network is First to Offer Ad-Supported Full-Length Hollywood Movies and Television Series in the Region

MIAMI, FL and SAO PAULO, Brazil (October 31, 2011) - Crackle, a multi-platform video entertainment network, today announced it will launch in Brazil in the first quarter of 2012, becoming the first online network to offer ad-supported, free-to-consumer full-length movies and television series in Latin America. The network will be overseen by Jose Rivera-Font, vice president and general manager, Crackle, Latin America and Brazil. The announcement was made by Andy Kaplan, president, worldwide networks, Sony Pictures Television (SPT).

Crackle's unique mix of high-quality content will be available first in Brazil in Portuguese at www.crackle.com.br followed by a Spanish version in Latin America later in the year. Crackle's ad-supported service provides consumers with a uniquely curated experience that includes a variety of Hollywood movies in genres including action, comedy, crime, horror, thriller and sci-fi and a large selection of episodes from hit television series as well as original Crackle and locally-produced series.

In his new role, Rivera-Font will be responsible for running the network across Latin America and Brazil, including programming, marketing and operations. Rivera-Font will report to Eric Berger, executive vice president, digital networks and TC Schultz, executive vice president, networks, Latin America and Brazil, for SPT.

"With the fifth largest online audience in the world, Brazil is an exciting market for Crackle and the next big market in our international expansion," said Kaplan. "For consumers, Crackle will deliver free access to hit movies and television shows at their convenience. For advertisers, Crackle provides a terrific opportunity to reach an online audience while placing their brands next to the highest quality content."

In the U.S., Crackle has sustained wide reaching growth, attracting more than 10 million unique visitors across online, mobile and over the top devices monthly and more than five million Crackle app downloads in only six months.

Previously, Rivera-Font served as executive vice president, client and partner solutions at MGSCOMM. In this role, Rivera-Font drove the company's growth strategy, successfully evolving the organization into a national business to become a leading independent Hispanic-owned advertising communications company in the US. His oversight included expanding the capabilities of the Client Services team and product portfolio offering to increase revenue and margin improvement. Prior, he acted as vice president and general manager for Yahoo! Hispanic Americas, in which he was responsible for the strategic management of Yahoo!'s Hispanic business in the Americas. He was responsible for the development of national and pan-regional digital and traditional media sponsorship programs with brands such as Pepsi-Cola and Verizon.
