CULVER CITY, Calif., January 6, 2010 - The Emmy® -winning and critically acclaimed AMC series returns to DVD and debuts on Blu-ray Disc™ March 9 when Sony Pictures Home Entertainment releases Breaking Bad: The Complete Second Season. Winner of two Best Actor Emmys® and recently nominated for a SAG award for his role as high school chemistry teacher turned drug kingpin Walter White, Bryan Cranston (TV's "Malcolm in the Middle") stars in Breaking Bad. The edgy thriller also features Anna Gunn (TV's "Deadwood"), Aaron Paul (TV's "Big Love"), Dean Norris (Terminator 2: Judgment Day), Betsy Brandt (TV's "Back When We Were Grownups"), and RJ Mitte. The second season of the hit series won two Emmys® (Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, Outstanding Single-camera Picture Editing for a Drama Series). All 13 episodes will be included on both the four-disc DVD and three-disc Blu-ray Disc™, along with exclusive bonus content, including behind-the-scenes featurettes, deleted scenes, cast and crew commentaries and much more. Breaking Bad: The Complete Second Season DVD will be available for $39.95 SRP, while the Blu-ray Disc™ release will sell for $49.95 SRP. Breaking Bad: The Complete First Season will also be available on High-Def Blu-ray Disc™ for $39.95 SRP on the same day.
Created by acclaimed writer/director/producer Vince Gilligan (an executive producer for TV's "The X-Files"), who also serves as executive producer alongside Academy Award® winner Mark Johnson (Rain Man, 1988 Best Picture), Breaking Bad follows the story of Walter White (Cranston), a high school chemistry teacher who discovers he is dying of lung cancer. Desperate to secure his family's financial security and to pay for his cancer treatments, he teams with former student Jesse Pinkman (Paul) to turn a used RV into a mobile drug lab. Breaking Bad will return in 2010 for its third season.
