Working with top photo site Webshots, we collected photos from fans showing their Spider-Man spirit. To encourage participation, Webshots created and featured a custom photo collection of Spider-Man- related images that users had previously uploaded to the site. This custom collection, in conjunction with multiple high-impact stunt ad placements and movie-themed page skins, encouraged nearly 1,300 users to submit their photos.
Collaborating with creative design agency Trigger, we re-created an iconic image of Peter Parker/ Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson as a photo mosaic using the images submitted via Webshots. Users are able to zoom into the mosaic to view the photos as well as search for their friends and family by name, city and state.
On the film's day of release, our Spider-Man 3 ad on the homepage of Yahoo announced the launch of the Photo Mosaic. The ad generated more than 150,000 visits the weekend of release and generated 375,000 views since launch.
